Rules Spawners

Golden Sands has special rules concerning spawners to minimize the amount of lag they cause.

General Rules:

  • Follow tech point rules (tooltips and list below)
  • Maximum TWO SPAWNERS TOTAL on at a time PER TEAM
    (only one active per chunk)
  • Mobs must be spawned, killed, and remain in the same chunk
  • Mobs must be killed quickly
  • Mob drops must be picked up quickly (vacuum hopper, ender collector, etc.)
  • All spawners must be turned OFF before going offline and NOT use wireless redstone

Cost in Tech Points (for servers that use Tech Points):

  • Draconic / Basic / Wrath Cage / Cursed Earth (look at the tooltip) / Vanilla = 100 (Tier 1)
  • Wyvern / Double-Layered = 160 (Tier 2 - Dunewalker and up)
  • Awakened / Octadic = Prohibited (Tier 3)

Tips when setting up a spawner:

  • See the design for the preferred spawner setup at /warp tutorial on Infinity
  • Use diamond spikes or mob grinder to kill mobs
  • Tier 1: use vacuum hoppers to pickup XP and items
  • Tier 2: use vacuum hoppers to pickup XP and Ender Collectors to pickup items
  • Use a corporeal attractor to pull mobs towards the killing device. Don't use conveyor belts or water
  • If you are on a team the spawner limit is per team, not per player.
  • If you are playing on a server that does not use Tech Points, you may ignore those requirements (e.g., Awakened spawners are not prohibited).
